Season's Greetings from PHRF NE
December 20, 2020

Seasons Greetings From PHRF New England!

As 2020 thankfully comes to a close, we wanted to reach out to you all and wish you the best for the new year ahead. People are already registering with us for 2021. Just like last year, we are offering a 5 dollar discount for registering early in 2021! Over the last few months PHRF NE has been working towards creating ratings for short handed racing. These ratings will be FREE to anyone with a full crew rating! This will make for fair ratings for single and double handed sailors, and will help regatta committees and race committees with ease of use. We expect to see continued growth in short handed sailing, and wanted to help with this exciting expansion of another facet of our sport.

If you are looking for ways to build your crew, our website, PHRFNE.ORG Is full of information, and anyone can go there. Another crew builder is to get your crew to add their emails to our emailing list. They do not have to be members, nor do they have to own boats to stay informed and feel like they are truly part of an organization that has promoted sailboat racing through out New England for a very long time.

Whether you race in Buzzards Bay, Edgartown, Boston Harbor, Marblehead, Beverly, Cape Ann, Portsmouth, Portland, Camden, or Lake Winnipesaukee, having an informed and interested crew makes for solidarity and fun. After all, this is a team sport, so just as learning the rules, boat preparation and motivation, crew building is quite important too. Why not take advantage of these two options we provide for free? As always, using our email blast capabilities is also FREE to get out the word about your regattas and individual races, regatta committees just let us know.

If you have any questions, please contact your Fleet Governors or Fleet Handicappers, if you cannot reach them get in touch with any of the Executive Board members whose email addresses can be found on PHRFNE.ORG. There is approximately 200 years of combined PHRF Racing experience on the executive board, we will help you with any questions that you have. We also have support people that we refer to often when we are rating new boats and re-rating others. Most of our Executive board and support people are in the marine industry or have been, and we are all volunteers to this great organization. We are past class champions, past college All Americans, past major regatta chair people, and a Rolex winner all working for you and PHRF NE.

This year's Edgartown Race Week, Marblehead To Halifax, and all of the racing in GMORA will be supported by PHRFNE. Whether you race only on weekends, week nights, or the big regattas, you can count on us to be there to support fair and fun racing.

Happy Holidays to all from,

PHRF New England Executive Board, our Support Group, our Certificate Registrar, and
Chuck Twombly, Commodore, PHRF NE
